What to expect
Once we've confirmed your appointment and received your deposit, you'll get all the necessary info and wardrobe suggestions within a few days. If you want some outfit advice, just shoot me an email with your choices at least 72 hours before your session. Make sure to check out my wardrobe guidelines first.
The session duration varies depending on your package, typically running from 30 minutes up to a max of 2 hours. If you've booked a hair and makeup artist, plan for an extra 30 minutes for them to get you ready. When you add a pro hair and makeup artist to your booking, the system will handle the timing, so no need to show up early.
Hair and make -up
For the best outcome, it's highly recommended to opt for a professional makeup artist for your photoshoot, especially for kids dealing with acne, skin discoloration, or teenagers. My makeup artists have the expertise to achieve a natural "no makeup" look while enhancing your child's features. They can also assist with hairstyling and creating various looks throughout the session.
If you decide not to book a makeup artist, please ensure you come already prepared for the camera with your hair and makeup done. Thank you for considering this option. Feel free to reach out via email if you'd like to include a makeup artist. Here are the rates (which may vary):
Girls aged 6-11: $150
Girls aged 12-17: $175
Women aged 17 and above: $200
Boys aged 6-16: $135
Men aged 17 and above: $150
Wardrobe Suggestions
Wardrobe plays a big role in creating awesome headshots. To get the best results, it's a good idea to follow these wardrobe tips below. If needed, it's a good practice to get your agency's approval before finalizing your wardrobe choices.
For both kids and adults, vibrant jewel tones are a great pick to make your photos stand out. It's best to steer clear of grey, pastels, neon colors, busy patterns, or large logos. Patterns are okay, as long as they're small and not too distracting. Layering your clothing with jackets, vests, or cardigans can add depth to your photos. Clothes that fit well and are nicely tailored tend to work best in pictures.
For older kids and adults, nailing specific character looks with your wardrobe is important, especially if you're going for 3 or more looks. Think about styles like preppy, sporty, professional, girl-next-door, business attire, or any looks that match your casting preferences. It's essential that these character outfits look authentic and not like costumes or cosplay. It's a good idea to chat with your agent or manager about your wardrobe choices in advance.

Dress right for the season!
Please ensure that when you schedule an outdoor photoshoot with me during the winter months, you pick outfits that are suitable for the season, keeping your child warm and comfortable. Even though we're in California, mornings can be quite chilly, and shivering kids don't make for great photos! Consider options like layers, jackets, vests, tights, and well-fitted sweaters – they'll keep your child cozy and still look incredibly cute in the pictures. You can find some examples attached below.
It's equally important to consider weather-appropriate clothing choices during the summer months, especially to keep your child comfortable in the heat. High temperatures can impact their comfort and how they perform during the photoshoot. Be sure to choose outfits that allow for breathability and comfort while still looking great in photos. Light, breathable fabrics, dresses and shorts, are excellent additions to your summer photoshoot wardrobe.
When shopping for clothing, I recommend checking out stores like Old Navy, Target, GAP, H&M, Macy's, Gymboree, Janie and Jack, and Crewcuts for solid jewel-toned items. Just remember, no graphics or distracting patterns!
After your session
You can expect to receive the lightly processed, unretouched proofs of your session within 7-10 business days, unless you've requested rush delivery, in which case you'll receive the proofs within 48 hours. These proofs will be accessible through a password-protected online Pixieset gallery, which allows you to download both print and web size versions and mark your favorites. It's important to note that it's recommended that you consult with your agent or manager, as they typically select the favorites for retouching. However, if they prefer, you can also create a narrowed-down list in our Pixieset gallery to share with them, to make the selection process easier.
Retouching generally takes about a day or two from the time we receive your selects or payment if there is a balance. Once the retouches are ready, they will be added to your gallery under the "Edits" tab. Your package includes a complimentary two-month hosting of the web gallery of your proofs online, after which it will be archived. To avoid a $50 fee for image resend, it's important that you download and save all images for future use.

To schedule an appointment, kindly visit my booking page by clicking HERE and choose your desired package. You'll see a calendar displaying my available dates, and you can secure your session and submit your deposit right there.
Kindly take note that weekend sessions are subject to an additional $25 surcharge per child. Furthermore, our agency rates are exclusively available to clients who are under the representation of qualifying agents/managers. Clients who are not affiliated with agencies are still welcome to book, but there will be an additional fee of $50.
During the school year, weekend slots tend to fill up several weeks in advance. If you require a session sooner, it's recommended that you consider a weekday appointment. To allow for flexibility, I generally schedule appointments within a 3-month timeframe and avoid scheduling too far in advance.
A $150 non-refundable holding fee is necessary to reserve your appointment, so please ensure you double-check your availability for the selected date.
The remaining balance can be conveniently paid online via credit card before the session or in cash on the day of your session.

Policies and Procedures
By booking a session with Tamara Tihanyi Photography you agree to all of the policies/procedures listed below so please read carefully.
HOLDING FEE & PAYMENT
A $150 non-refundable holding fee is required to reserve your session. The remaining balance is due on the session date.
Cash and Zelle have no additional fee. Credit card and Venmo payments include a 4% processing fee.
RESCHEDULING
One reschedule is permitted with at least 72 hours’ notice and must take place within six months of the original session date.
Changes made within 72 hours, including illness, will result in forfeiture of the holding fee. Specials, travel sessions and pop-ups may not be rescheduled.
LATE ARRIVALS & NO-SHOWS
Late arrival reduces your available session time. Clients arriving more than 20 minutes late may be considered a cancellation.
No-shows will forfeit all payments and may be declined for future bookings.
GALLERIES & RETOUCHING
Proof galleries are generally delivered within 7–10 business days and remain available for 60 days.
Retouch selections must be submitted within one month of the session. Expired galleries may be reactivated or resent for a $50 fee.
RE-SHOOTS & REFUNDS
Re-shoots or refunds are offered only for verified technical problems caused by the Photographer.
They are not offered for concerns involving wardrobe, hair, makeup, personal appearance, expressions or uncooperative subjects.
MINORS & RECORDING
A parent or legal guardian must remain present for all clients under 18.
Personal photography and video recording are not permitted during the session.
By booking, the Client agrees to all session policies.
