What to expect
After your appointment has been scheduled and your deposit has been received, I will provide you with all necessary details and wardrobe suggestions within 48 hours. If you would like my input on your outfits, please send them to me via email at least 72 hours before your scheduled session so that any necessary adjustments can be made. Prior to sending your options, please make sure to review my wardrobe guidelines. The duration of sessions may vary depending on the package selected, typically lasting between 30 minutes and a maximum of 2 hours. If you have hired a hair and makeup artist, please expect an additional 30 minutes before your shoot for adequate preparation time. When you add a pro hair and makeup artist to your booking, the system will automatically include the additional time, so there is no need to arrive early.
Hair and make -up
For the best results, it is highly recommended to book a professional makeup artist for your photoshoot, especially for kids with acne, discoloration, or teenagers. My makeup artists are trained to deliver a natural "no makeup" look while enhancing your child's features, and they can also help with hair and creating different looks during the session. If you choose not to book a makeup artist, please arrive camera-ready and bring everything needed for hair and makeup. Thank you for considering this option. Please email me to add on HMUA. Wardrobe Suggestions
Wardrobe is a critical element in creating stunning headshots. To ensure the best results, it is recommended to follow the wardrobe guidelines provided below. If necessary, please seek approval from your agency before selecting your wardrobe.
For children and adults alike, rich jewel tones are recommended to make the images pop. It's best to avoid white, grey, black, pastels, busy graphics or large logos unless specified. Patterns are acceptable, provided they are small and not overly distracting. Layered clothing such as jackets, vests, and cardigans add depth to the images. It is important to wear clothing that is form-fitted and well-tailored. Smaller clothes that are fitted work best in photographs.
For older kids and adults, portraying specific character looks with wardrobe is crucial, especially if booking 3+ looks. Consider looks such as preppy, sporty, nerd, all-American girl next door, business type, soccer mom, or any other looks that align with your casting preferences. The character-specific outfits should look authentic and not costumed like cosplay. We recommend discussing your wardrobe choices with your agent/manager beforehand.
We are happy to provide wardrobe advice and suggestions based on your clothing options. If you wish to receive feedback, please email images of the clothing to us at least 72 hours before the session, preferably with the child wearing the clothing so we can assess the fit as well.

Baby, it's cold outside...
Please make sure that when you shoot outdoors with me in the winter months that you select winter appropriate outfits so your child is not cold. Even though we live in California it can get very chilly in the mornings and freezing kids don't do well on photoshoots! Layers, jacket, vest, tights, fitted sweaters are perfectly appropriate options for your session and they will still look super cute on photos. Attached some examples below. When shopping for clothing I recommend you check out Old Navy, Target, GAP, H&M, Macy's, Gymboree, Janie and Jack and Crewcuts for solid jewel tone items. Remember no graphics or distracting patterns!

After your session
You can expect to receive the lightly processed, unretouched proofs of your session within 7-10 business days, unless you've requested rush delivery, in which case you'll receive the proofs within 48 hours. These proofs will be accessible through a password-protected online Pixieset gallery, which allows you to download both print and web size versions and mark your favorites. It's important to note that it's recommended that you consult with your agent or manager, as they typically select the favorites for retouching. However, if they prefer, you can also create a narrowed-down list in our Pixieset gallery to share with them, to make the selection process easier.
Retouching generally takes about a day or two from the time we receive your selects or payment if there is a balance. Once the retouches are ready, they will be added to your gallery under the "Edits" tab. Your package includes a complimentary two-month hosting of the web gallery of your proofs online, after which it will be archived. To avoid a $50 fee for image resend, it's important that you download and save all images for future use.

To make an appointment please use my booking page by clicking HERE and select the package that you would like. A calendar with my available dates will come up and you can reserve your session and submit your deposit right thru there.
Please note that weekend sessions are subject to a $25 weekend upcharge per child.
When school is in session, weekend appointments tend to book up weeks in advance. If you need a session sooner, it is recommended that you request a weekday appointment. To account for potential changes, I typically schedule appointments within a 3-month window and do not schedule too far in advance.
$150 non-refundable holding fee is required to reserve a appointment so make sure that you double check that you are available on the date that you book.
Remaining balance can be paid online via CC prior to session or in cash on the day of your session.

Policies and Procedures
By booking a session with Tamara Tihanyi Photography you agree to all of the policies/procedures listed below so please read carefully.
HOLDING FEE/RESCHEDULING
To reserve your appointment with our photography service, a holding fee of $150 is required. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, but will be applied towards the balance due on the day of your shoot. Once your deposit is received, we will reserve the agreed-upon date and time and will not accept any other clients or reservations for that time slot.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 72 hours (3 business days) notice prior to your scheduled session. Failure to do so will result in the retention of the holding fee paid as a cancellation fee to offset our loss of business.
We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, so we strive to accommodate our clients' needs. However, in order to reschedule your shoot and keep your deposit, we require a minimum of 72 hours (3 days) notice before the scheduled shoot date, including being sick. Please note that this can only be done once, and if another rescheduling is necessary, a new deposit will need to be made. We kindly ask that you book out the entire day when scheduling your shoot date to ensure that we won't have any last-minute booking conflicts.
SICKNESS/COVID-19 POLICY
The safety and well-being of our clients are of utmost importance to us. Due to the nature of our work, we work in close proximity to our clients, especially children. Therefore, we strictly adhere to our sick policy, and clients are expected to cancel or reschedule their session if they or their child exhibit any symptoms associated with COVID-19 within 14 days of their scheduled shoot. If the client or their immediate family member has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 30 days, a negative test is required to proceed with the appointment.
Additionally, we require all clients to follow the current CDC and local guidelines regarding Coronavirus safety during their session.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment for any reason, please notify us at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled session. Failure to do so will result in a rescheduling fee of $150 to offset our loss of business.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these challenging times.
LATE ARRIVALS
Late arrivals may result in a reduced amount of shoot time and fewer images or looks, as subsequent clients may be scheduled after you. Please be aware that arriving over 20 minutes late will be considered a cancellation, and your deposit will be forfeited.
TIMELINE AND SESSION REVIEW
The client will receive a gallery of all proofs within a period of seven to fourteen days after the photography session date. Rush delivery of images can be arranged for an extra charge. The gallery will remain accessible for two months from the session date. After this time, all images will be archived. In case the client needs to access the gallery again after it has been closed, a fee of $50.00 will be charged for resending it.
COMPLIMENTARY RETOUCHES
The Photographer will provide the Client with a certain number of complimentary retouches as part of the package. However, if the Client fails to select the retouches within one month from the session date, they will forfeit the complimentary retouches included in the package.
RE-SHOOT & REFUND
In order to ensure high quality work and client satisfaction, The Photographer will offer a free re-shoot or refund only in cases of technical difficulties on her part. Technical issues may include lighting problems, equipment malfunction, or any other issue that may impact the final images' quality.
Please note that free re-shoots will not be offered for reasons such as the client's clothing choice, dissatisfaction with hair or makeup, client's facial expressions, or uncooperative subjects. The client understands that children can be unpredictable and the photographer will make every effort to work with the child to capture the best possible images. However, the photographer cannot guarantee that every desired image will be captured.
The client is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the shoot meet their satisfaction during the session. If the client has any concerns or requests during the session, they must inform the photographer immediately. The photographer will make every effort to accommodate the client's requests within the agreed-upon session timeframe. Additionally, any issues beyond the photographer's control, such as inclement weather or unexpected events, are not eligible for a free re-shoot or refund.
AGE AND OTHER LIMITIATIONS

Sessions are available for children aged 4 years and above. The child must be able to follow directions well during the session.

For clients under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must be present during the session.

We do not offer sessions to children of other headshot or kids photographers.

The use of professional cameras or videography during the session is strictly prohibited.
